JF Hull were sole invitee for the design constructability stage of the project and then awarded as principal contractor for the delivery of the project in 2020. The Gateway Arterial Flyover Bridge Strengthening project consisted of the remedial strengthening works to the existing Gateway Motorway flyover bridge structure and pavement works to the Gympie Arterial Road at the interface with the start of the Bruce Highway.

A collaborative approach was taken to the project by all parties involved (principal, administrators, and designers) which was a significant factor in the projects’ successful outcomes.

 

Scope of Work

JF Hull was engaged to provide constructability advice to the designers and client during the design phase to allow collaboration with key subcontractors.

Construction staging was integral to the planning and design phase to ensure clearance to formwork and consideration of excavation to top of pile cap level.
Collaboration with TMR engineering and technology department enabled selection of suitable jacking equipment and testing that these were fit-for-purpose and had the ability to meet performance requirements.
