About us

JF Hull Holdings is proud of our reputation in Civil Construction industry which is founded on collaboration with clients, joint venture partners, subcontractors, suppliers and employees.

The organisation was formed in 1977 with the aim of undertaking works requiring a high degree of professional engineering, innovative techniques and field construction skills. To date we have been successful in achieving this aim, having delivered over 140 projects to the satisfaction of our clients.

John Hull

Chairman

As Chairman, John provides the strategic direction for JF Hull Holdings.

Prior to starting JF Hull Holdings, John spent time working as a design engineer, a mine planning engineer and in the civil construction industry with a local contractor. He then started JF Hull in 1977 with the first contract being the Reconstruction of Cook Street Rail Bridge project for QR with a staff of 4 people.

With over 50 years’ experience in the civil and construction industry, John now takes an active role as Chairman offering technical advice for temporary works designs and providing strategic direction for the operation of the company.

Bruce Graham

Executive Director

Bruce advises the estimating team on constructability and corporate governance.

Bruce Graham has more than 45 years’ experience in the construction of major civil projects in earth and rockfill dams, and mine development and road infrastructure throughout Australia and Asia.

Since joining JF Hull in 1990, Bruce has been instrumental in the growth of the company’s business. Stepping down after 6 years as Managing Director, Bruce will continue to be actively involved with the estimating team, providing constructability advice for tenders and working closely with Warren on corporate governance.

Clayton Smith

Project Director

Clayton has been responsible for directing the completion of multiple construction projects.

Clayton Smith, a graduate from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, is a Project Director with over 28 years’ experience in major civil infrastructure, particularly wharfs, submarine pipelines, concrete bridge structures and major roadworks in highly trafficked and sensitive environments.

Clayton brings highly relevant experiences in major road and rail structures, with Clayton being responsible for the award-winning Houghton Highway Duplication, South Pine to Tributary Creek Bridge upgrade and Woolgoolga to Ballina projects.

Graham Hull

Design Interface Manager

Graham is a senior Project Manager as well as taking on roles in team building and staff mentoring.

Graham Hull graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), is a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He joined JF Hull in 1998 and has had experience working on a variety of major civil infrastructure projects including bridges, retaining walls, water retaining structures and manufacture of prestressed concrete products. Experienced in delivery of all types of contracts,

Graham is a capable senior level Project Manager, also comfortable in a wide range of roles. Graham is also passionate about mentoring the professional development of junior staff and building and strengthening successful project teams.

Warren Crowther

General Manager

Warren is the General Manager of JF Hull Holdings with a focus on improving Safety Culture.

Warren Crowther graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and has completed a Master of Business Administration (Project Management) at the University of Southern Queensland. With major civil infrastructure experience in Australia and the United Kingdom, prior to joining JF Hull Holdings, Warren was the project director on the $1 Billion dollar Gateway Upgrade North Project (QLD) and and held senior leadership roles on the Gateway WA Perth Airport and Freight Access (WA) and Coal Connect projects.

Warren’s technical experience on multidisciplinary brown field projects combined with his collaborative style and personal drive for continually improving safety culture is well suited to the role of General Manager.

Sam West

Precontracts Manager

Sam is the Precontracts Manager of JF Hull Holdings responsible for leading tenders and EOIs.

Sam West graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), is a Project Director with over 20 years’ of experience in major civil infrastructure including road, rail and mine infrastructure projects. Since joining JF Hull, Sam has been involved in a variety of projects with a variety of roles, whether it be directly involved in project delivery, as part of the project’s CLT or leading tenders and EOIs.

Warwick Spackman

Construction Manager

Warwick is the Construction Manager of JF Hull Holdings

Warwick Spackman graduate from Central Queensland University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and CPEng, has over 19 years’ experience in civil construction industry in Queensland having worked on numerous major infrastructure projects including motorways, roads, bridges, rail, sea walls, retaining walls, as well as water and waste water treatment facilities. Having joined JF Hull in 2008, Warwick continues to provide valuable contributions through project delivery and head office roles.
